The 'old-timer's favorite. British Tan. Rugged 5.5 oz weight is approximately 3/32" thick. Smooth finish. Medium temper combines excellent strength with supple handling. Heavily waxed and oil-tanned for protection against sun and salt exposure.
This leather is ideal for traditional marine applications including turnbuckle and spreader boots, chafe protection on mooring lines, oar leathers, boom gallows, tiller wraps, wheel wraps, etc. Also makes great bag bottoms and leather reinforcement patches for all types of sail making and canvas work.
Sold by the square foot or by the Full Hide. Our Full Hides are guaranteed to be a minimum of 22+ square feet. Exact shape will vary from hide to hide (depending on the shape of the cow!).
